They review books, movies, games, and more. Sign up is easy, free and automatic.

If you like reviewing things, than Shvoong is the site for you. When I visited the site I thought, hmm, it’s light, airy and no strings attached. You sign up, provide your PayPal account info and start writing reviews. The one caveat is that reviews are limited to 900 words. So, if you tend to get long winded, cut it down to 900 words or less.

According to the Shvoong website, they pay 10% of their advertising revenues to writers via PayPal once their account exceeds $10. Because PayPal is not available in all countries, they will pay by check to writers who cannot use PayPal.

As with any online content site, the more high quality, search engine friendly reviews you write, the more your reviews will be seen and the more money you’ll make. Shvoong recommends the usual social book marking and social networking tools to improve your review’s visibility.

Shvoong’s Money Making Potential

You won’t get rich with Shvoong, but if you enjoy writing reviews and want to earn a few bucks each month, this looks like a nice place to start. I spent a little time looking at the highest earners’ stats. It seems that earning big money there is all about learning the ropes.

These numbers tell me that folks can earn money at Shvoong, but as with any online writing site, you have to learn what works and what doesn’t. Oh, and a few of the top earning reviews are not written in English, so language is not a problem with Shvoong.  This is truly an opportunity for international writers.

Referrals:

Shvoong does offer a referral program where you can earn up to $100 for each referral (depending on how active your referrals are). In order to get credit for a referral you must manually invite your friends via email. They don’t offer a referral ID.

I signed up a couple of days ago and have yet to write a review. I received a friendly encouraging nudge from them in my inbox this morning. Guess I’ll give it a try before the week is out (sounds like you should too). :)
