Since my toddler is not yet in preschool, days when the husband is off work, are totally no work days. Since his health has been quite poor lately, there have been many off days. And yes, I agree, what's the point of passive income if you can't take a day off every now and then. Am sure you'll be writing at full speed once everyone's off to work and school! In just about two weeks comes spring break. Love the kids and husband... but writing gives us extra cash and mom something more: a sense of identity that doesn't revolve around taking care of everyone else. Writing is just as much for my sanity as our pocketbooks. And after a few days of not being able to focus on it, I'm just about crawling out of my skin. What a timely post… my girls just had winter break on the heels of one being home sick. In just about two weeks comes spring break.

Love the kids and husband… but writing gives us extra cash and mom something more: a sense of identity that doesn’t revolve around taking care of everyone else.

Writing is just as much for my sanity as our pocketbooks. And after a few days of not being able to focus on it, I’m just about crawling out of my skin.

Thanks for the post - It'snice to know I am not alone. If my husband and daughter are home there is no way to get any writing done. My husband chats away while I try to think and he has now advised me that I have a computer addiction. My daughter is two so I really can't look away or she is climbing on chairs and jumping off couches. I save my writing for the weekends when hubby is at the gym and my little princess is napping. I wouldn't change it for the world because I am writing for my family - so we can have extra money and maybe one day I can be a stay at home mom (my dream!). Oh this is great.
