When I first tried my hand at blogging, one of the tool selections of a particular group was Twitter. It was shiny and new and I wanted to see how it fit. My use seems to go in spurts. I do find it's a good source of information.

I tend to chuckle a bit at followers, too. That's kind of like the blind leading the blind.

With so many social media avenues, I think we just have to find out what the best means of communication is for each of us. For me, it's a little of Twitter, FB, and email.

Lately I seem to be getting a lot of random people following my tweets. I don't really tweet anything other than links to new blog posts. I'm not really sure what else to use it for.

I gave Twitter a whirl for a while. It wasn't the minutiae of strangers' lives that bugged me (although, yes, it can be a little oddly-creepy at times). What turned me off was the constant spammy tweets. Not typical spam, mind you, but the constant barrage of "Just wrote a new blog post, check it out!" kind of messages. Some people even had their eHow accounts set so that I was tweeted every time they wrote or commented on an eHow article. It got annoying, and I jumped ship. Maybe I'll get back on Twitter when I am feeling less easily-annoyed. :)

It took me a few months to decide what to do with Twitter. I also do not have time for constant updates. I now try to Twitter while I'm doing research for my writing. Not only do I find something to say, I can also use the info to build interest for an upcoming article.

I am not a Twitter user either. I just do not want to have to remember any more passwords, and do not want to register anywhere else. I have enough to remember already!

Funny, though, my daughter told me the other day they are calling me "Twitter" because I text message short bits like "baby sleeping" and "baby awake" when they are out - so they do not open the noisy door fast and wake her up!
