You'll find that the different stat counting programs offer different information. You'll also notice that they don't always agree when it comes to traffic count.

I had InfoLinks here on NJFM, but I took it off. I did earn some money each day from it, but I find my target audience here would find it more of a nuisance than an asset. I use it on my other sites/blogs. Not all programs work equally well on all sites.

I'm glad Textbroker is working well for you.

Yes, you did mention Google Analytics. Got that plus the other two you recommended in one of your previous posts on blogging loaded onto my blog today.

About InfoLinks - it appears you do not have that on this blog. Where do you use it? I loaded it on my blog and many of the links make absolutely no sense. Will this improve over time? I'm following another of your recommendations and considering this blog my education so am experimenting around a lot. Guess I can always just undo anything I decide I don't like!

On another subject, I have to thank you again for introducing me to textbroker. I've been writing like crazy and loving it! Trying to slow down now so I can devote more time to my other projects but it sure is nice to have the upfront pay.

Crystal, the visitors don't know or care about web tracking. I'm not sure if I mentioned Google Analytics in my earlier post, but it's commonly used by web masters and bloggers to get a better understanding of what's working and what's not. It also helps when setting advertising rates for selling ad space on blogs/websites and lets the blogger know where traffic is coming from (and going).

Felicia - Thanks for the links you posted in response to Tamara's questions. I learn so darn much from your blog! Checked out the trackers you mentioned in your Advice for Bloggers post. Are you aware of any problems with all the web tracking that goes on? Does it affect search engines in any way? Do visitors ever mind? Do they even know?

Tamara, I apologize for taking a while to answer your question. Although the question is simple, the answer isn't as simple.

I went through my blog to find a few entries that might be helpful (if you search around you'll find more on blogging).

Here are a few on starting a blog and what to blog about:
http://www.nojobformom.com/2008/08/14/make-blogging-easier-blog-your-life/
http://www.nojobformom.com/2008/07/24/successful-blog-ingredient-2/
http://www.nojobformom.com/2008/07/24/what-are-your-blogging-goals/
http://www.nojobformom.com/2008/07/11/new-writer-blogger-advice/

As far as getting paid for blogging, do a quick search on NJFM for "paid blogging" and hopefully you'll find quite a few posts to help you.

If you want to know more about setting up a blog, try using free sites like Blogger.com or Wordpress. If you want to monetize your blog, I would recommend Blogger over WordPress because WordPress.com does not allow bloggers to place ads.

If you're adventurous, you can set up your own hosted WordPress blog by registering your own domain and having WordPress installed. That's what I did here at NJFM.

Hopefully that helps get you started.
