Playing with Tiny URL’s
Sometimes when I’m supposed to be working, I’m not. As part of my goof off time, I ended up on the other side of the internet. I can’t say how I got there, but I ended up at TinyUrl.com. If you have twittered or tweeted, you’re familiar with tiny URLs. Since Twitterers can only insert [...]
End of Summer Writing Goals
For some of us, this is the last week of summer vacation. Depending on where you live and how early school begins, some of you may already be entrenched in the back to school/back to work routine. Up here in the Northeast, these are the last two weeks of summer vacation, soon it will be [...]
Content Divas – Another Writing Opportunity?
A few weeks ago one of my readers asked me if I had heard of Content Divas. I knew the name sounded familiar, but I combed the NJFM blog to see if I had written about them but couldn’t find anything. It wasn’t until I was cleaning out my inbox that I realize I had [...]
A 2009 Milestone
As of today, August 24, 2009, I have officially surpassed my last year’s income. Everything I earn from now until December 31, 2009 is considered a raise. I’m taking the day off to celebrate!
A Writing Tip or Two I’ve Learned
I’m going to begin this post by saying rather emphatically, “I’m no expert.” So, take anything I say here with a grain of salt. Now having said that I do want to share a few things I’ve learned about writing along the way. What I Learned in School Hmmm, don’t remember too much about that. [...]
Stop Me Before it’s Too Late
Just recently I got to take a look at some of my responses to reader comments. All I have to say is, someone, please stop me before my responses become totally unintelligible. If I’m already comparing residual income to kissing frogs and Demand Studios to sandboxes and toys, who knows what I’ll be saying a [...]
HubPages is a Keeper
As you know, I recently started writing for HubPages. Although I signed up quite some time ago, I only wrote my first article a month ago on July 20, 2009. Understanding the nature of residual writing, I know for a fact that the first month of any online residual writing site is usually an exercise [...]
Earn Money Writing about Your Microsoft Office Skills
The website OfficeUsers.org seems to be looking for freelance writers. According to their “Becoming an OFFICEUSERS.ORG Columnist” page, their basic minimum payment is $20.00 an article. In addition to the minimum payment they pay royalties. The royalties are paid over a three month period of time calculated based on page views. The higher the page [...]
My 250th Post
Wow. It seems like I started this blog yesterday. My first official post was on March 8, 2008. Well, it really wasn’t. You may or may not know that this blog started out as a static website. I later transformed it into a WordPress blog. The upside to the transformation process is that I can [...]
Temporary Outage
I apologize, but I have to temporarily close comments on this blog. Apparently I spoke too soon when I thought the hacker problem was resolved…it’s not. So, while I troubleshoot the problems with my hosting company, I’ve got to do some pretty funky things here. BTW, I’ve not been able to receive comments for the [...]
