Oh yeah - the name of my blog - "passive income" has become unintended joke! Get up, login, have breakfast over the laptop, get to work and look up and decide if I don't have a shower and get dressed it will be lunchtime- and I refuse to have lunch in my PJ's I have standards! Luckily my partner and I are competitive ballroom dancers - so we are out most nights dancing - you have to have something you like doing to get off your backside.
This is truly one of the most addictive activities and yes being inactive for 12+ hours day is probably bad for you LOL

Jessie, it must be doubly tough on you. I pray for your hubby's safe return.

Every once in a while there is a drawback to working from home. There is no quitting time. You're going to have to rely on friends and family to call or drop by to make sure you take a break.

If you don't have a dog, now might be a good time to get one or borrow one. They have an uncanny way of knowing when you need to take a break. It can help you maintain some level of balance until your husband gets back home.

Thanks Felicia, and Melissa, for sharing these tidbits. I struggle with these things compounded because of my husband's deployment. He is the one that usually makes me take a break. With him gone for a year, I may not stop working for days at a time. I have to struggle to keep a balance.

Thanks for sharing your journey Melissa.

I hope new writers take heed. It’s very easy to become so focused on writing and earnings at the expense of exercise and good eating habits.

I’m happy to hear that your health and your earnings are improving.

This is so true and hopefully many will take heed! I began in 2007 with writing and websites and basically worked 24/7 until two months ago. Can you say burn out? I gained 30 pounds (also quit smoking which packed on the pounds), I spent a large amount of money at the chiropractor, I was always in pain, my husband asked if he was ever going to get his wife back, etc, etc. In February I did make myself start walking on the treadmill several times a day but it wasn't until the end of May that I stopped. Not completely of course as money still has to be made but I am watching what I eat, exercising, doing things with my husband, watching a movie without the computer on, my back pain has lessened. I have to say it is an addiction and is not easy to break but it is worth it. I am more rested, I feel better, and to top it all, my articles and websites (and earnings!) are much much better!
