When Will They Ever Listen?
The other day as I was picking up after my kids and having a mental fuss fest in my head. I was wondering when will they ever listen? I try to impart information and wisdom to my kids to help them grow into responsible successful individuals. I wonder sometimes if my efforts are all in vain.
Writing Ability
Both of my kids are creative and have excellent writing ability. One hates to write and the other just doesn’t want to take the time. When they do, however, I’m very impressed at their imagination and ability to keep the reader engaged.
My son is of college age and I keep encouraging him to create a blog, write for eHow, Suite 101 or any of the residual writing sites to earn extra money. It’s a two fold reason. The more money he earns, the less I have to shell out. The other reason is that he’ll understand that it’s not just a mother’s bias, but he really has talent (his teachers are always telling him so).
A Legacy
Since my kids don’t listen to me now, I know there will be a time when they will realize mom was right. They’ll understand that they have a talent and they can earn residual money from it. I don’t know when it will happen, but I know it will (my son is at the age when he’s beginning to see that mom and dad aren’t such fuddy duddies and that we offer valuable advice from time to time).
When the light bulb does turn on and they want information on what to do, what not to do and how to become successful online entrepreneurs, they can always come back to their mom’s blog (NJFM) for information and advice. They probably won’t be able to find me because by that time hubby and I will be in our luxury RV touring the US. When we’re done there we’ll do a little continent hopping. We’ll come back home when the grandchildren begin showing up.
In the Meanwhile…
I’ll keep writing and sharing my experiences. Hopefully my readers will learn from them. As far as my kids go; I’ll keep encouraging them, loving them, picking up after them and fussing. One day they’ll realize just how much of a treasure mom is…
