My AdBrite vs Kontera Update    

After spending a couple of weeks or so using AdBrite,  I decided to switch back to Kontera.  After reviewing the income, I found that Kontera worked better for my sites than AdBrite did.

Taking into consideration that Kontera is only an inline text ad program, I still found that Kontera outperformed AdBrite hands down.  Using AdBrite I not only used the inline text program but I also used their image ads.  I’m in the process of taking those down too.  I find them to be rather annoying and I thank you for putting up with the annoyance of the ads and the associated noise (I usually keep my speakers off, and didn’t realize the ads made noise until very recently).

What I do like about AdBrite is the fact that they have real time ad statistics.  That I find to be a double-edged sword.  I tend to get lost sometimes checking my stats.  With Kontera, the stats are updated 24 to 48 and sometimes later than that.  Therefore, I get more work done because I’m not wasting time checking my stats.

The fact that my ads did not perform well with AdBrite is not a reflection on AdBrite at all.  It’s just that it probably works a lot better on other sites that generate more traffic.  As a matter of fact, a recent post from Christine seems to have confirmed my suspicion.

Maybe sometime in the future when my sites grow up, they’ll be able to graduate to AdBrite.  In the meanwhile, I’ll keep Kontera and keep searching…
