I was womenoverfifty at Today.com. I was having a good time with the other bloggers until they changed the rules on me.

I managed to take down my affiliates and my pictures, but couldn't do anything about the posts.

Eventually I got the email, but it took them a while to figure it out.

Lisa, you have a point about the referrals. I've got to go through my articles to see how I can either delete or change the ones I've written about Today.

As far as backing up posts, there's a software I use, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26x%3D0%26ref%255F%3Dnb%255Fss%255Fgw%255F0%255F10%26y%3D0%26field-keywords%3Dpdf%2520create%25205%26url%3Dsearch-alias%253Daps%26sprefix%3Dpdf%2520create&tag=njfm-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957" rel="nofollow">PDF Create</a>, which makes it very easy. I went to my Today blog and made .pdf's of the 3 or 4 pages (I didn't have many posts). I use it to backup all of my online content.

I think if anyone still has access to their accounts what they need to do is login and go to blog manager, then click on "manage my blog" then "export" and save a backup of all their content.

Here's the thing- the posts you were paid up front for THEY OWN- that was in the agreement, but the ones they don't pay for (second post of the day, under 100 words, affiliate links, etc) are yours.

I don't recall anything in their rules about how to remove the content. Once it's been reviewed, it looks like you can't.

So I wouldn't dream of promoting my today.com content (I never really did) but having it "out there" with my affiliate links and links to my site really isn't such a bad thing I don't think. mostly what I'm concerned about are the referrals I have, which I doubt I'll be paid for and the links to my referral URL that are "out there" posted in a lot of places I'd like to delete, because I really don't want to recommend them anymore.

Stephanie,

They must be searching the internet looking for comments and blog posts from their Today writers. I thought the timing of my "you're fired" email was rather interesting. It happened the day after I placed a post on this blog that I wasn't happy with them.

There are other ways to make money writing on the internet. Whether they close out your account or not, take advantage of some of the other online writing opportunities.

I've been pretty happy writing for them.
