I have not given up on Today, because I do use it a a blog and sounding board to talk about teaching, so it is helpful for me as well (and hopefully teachers). But, I get where Felicia is coming from. I have not written on there in several days. But, yes it is nice getting a dollar day. I think the key is to Today is to really write about something you are interested in and can offer a lot of posts on that subject. If it becomes a chore, then it is not worth that measly dollar! My two cents! :)

Well, this is rather ironic! It was you who actually convinced me to stick it out on Today, when I was feeling frustrated. Now you're the one who is thinking of leaving it behind.

Do what you need to do, Felicia. You have a very good head on your shoulders. It's easy for me to play around with online income because I'm still keeping my day job (for now!) I was unhappy with Today when thinking it was a residuals-only proposition -- now I'm satisfied with the $1 per post. But if earning money online were my sole purpose, I would definitely drop Today.

Hey Felicia -
I have been toying around with the idea of leaving Today.com along too but right now I'm running an experiment to see if I can make more money on my own blog on the same topic and so far, my own blog seems to be picking up steam. LOL! I may just give it up too. One thing that helped me out tremendously was creating a business plan - nothing too fancy but writing down my goals has really helped me focus and get down to business. : )

Good article and something I have been thinking about lately as well. Once writing becomes "work" it loses its draw. I am always looking at this and analyzing this. Writing should bring joy. Good luck in your decision!
