I see what you mean. So far I haven't noticed a difference.

As far as tnx.net, can't say that I've ever heard of them, but I'll check them out and let you know what I think.

Hey!

Actually, what I meant was the Google slaps you with a pr of 0 (or much lower than your original pr), with no relation of AdSence..
It does this when it identifies reciprocal and/or paid links on your site.

Same thing, btw, with pay-per-post. Google looks for the "this is a paid review" or similar declarations and marks this page as paid, never to be shown on the 'good' spots in the results' pages. That's why I heard of bloggers who make this declaration into a picture, not readable by robots....

Nevertheless, you motivated me to investigate once again.. ahh, feeling nostalgic. Anyway, what do you think about tnx.net?

Cheers,
Alex

Hey Alex,

Thanks for stopping by. As far as Text Link Ads and Google, there's no problem. They're totally different types of ads. Google is context sensitive and Text Link Ads is a non changing link to another site.

I've been using them for a few months and I've not found a difference with my Google income or ranking. Although I use Google AdSense, I've learned a long time ago to branch out to find other sources of income.

Google tends to give and then take away. While my other sources of income do not violate their TOS, I have to diversify my ad revenue streams. So far Text Link Ads is working pretty well.

Once an advertiser signs up for a link, they must provide 30 days notice to cancel the booking. I've grown accustomed to starting the month with solid guaranteed revenue each month. Google income is an added bonus.

I respect your caution, but you should look into it. It's easy income.

Hey Felicia,

I've been looking into these services for as long as I'm in blogging.. Although I was happy for the opportunity (could be an easy extra few bucks), the main thing that kept me from signing up was the fear of the Goggle Slap.. :)

So, for now I'm out. What do you think? I mean, for a site where pr influences its main income source, is it worthwhile to place that link with the risk of loosing that pr? And even if those are just rumors, I think it is enough to make me pass on that, and other such services..

Cheers,
Alex

p.s.
I just came by your blog through Google :)
Keep it in your "friends" list
