Absolutely. As I mentioned in my earlier post that readers should use care when using paid blogging. As far as Google page rank and position goes, Google giveth and Google taketh away. I have sites where Google, for whatever reason, decided to ignore. Having been on the receiving end of Google taking away, I no longer operate under that fear. You are right, however, one should always make an informed decision prior to signing on the dotted line.

It is important to realize what the vast majority of these paid post buyers are looking for. They’re look for a top notch anchored link back to their site that will pass Page Rank (PR) and Google search authority. That is why they don’t want you to properly disclose it as a paid link by marking it with the rel=nofollow tag.

Even worse, doing paid posts puts your blog’s position in Google at risk, both in terms of Page Rank and search results position. Is the short term income worth it? It isn’t to me but it’s something that everyone should consider before doing paid posts.

Well I took your advice- thank you for sharing your information. Yesterday I made it my goal to begin blogging and I did. Today it feels great- I just enjoy writing and sharing information. I have no real goals for blogging but more for writing and this will help me enhance my writing skills and dedication. Thanks again, I figure all the tech stuff I can learn and I go. You can start off with a free blog using Blogger.com or using WordPress.com.

If you intend to monetize your blog, I would choose Blogger over WordPress. WordPress doesn’t allow for ads. There are also other free blogging platforms out there. Do a Google search for free blog hosts.

Before you sign up for Pay Per Post or some of the other paid for blogging sites, you’ll have to have a few posts under your belt. Each site has their own set of requirements, but you’ve got to show a little blogging history before your blog will be approved.

If you really want to start blogging, the only thing you have to do is start. Once you start, keep reading and learning and you’ll be fine.
